Response to the tragedy
A message from Rabbi Zev Kahn

There are no words. Only tears. And prayers.

I have written to a great rabbi to ask him how we, as Jews, should respond. I hope to have a reply soon.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at 7.30 p.m. I am giving a class at TLC (Torah Learning Center) of Northbrook about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The class will be followed by a reading of Tehillim/ Psalms in memory of the victims and in the merit of the recovery of the injured. English translations and transliterations of the psalms read will be provided for those who cannot read Hebrew.

There will also be an open discussion for those who wish to share some of their feelings.

For more information, please call me at 773-262-9400.

TLC is situated at 3000 Dundee Road, Suite 317, off of Anthony Trail.

May G-d comfort us and grant us strength in this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Zev

BUFFET OF JEWISH THOUGHT
“Kabbalah – What it is, what it is not.  What you should know, what you should not”.  That’s the intriguing title of July’s Buffet of Jewish Thought. Our speaker will be Rabbi Shalom Kamenetsky, who enthralled his audience last year with his discussion on Reincarnation and the Jewish concept of the Afterlife. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, July 26, 12 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency.  For those of  you missed Rabbi Kamenetsky’s talk on Reincarnation, that will be the topic of the evening lecture at the Sheraton North Shore in Northbrook on Tuesday, July 25 at 8 p.m. To reserve your place at either or both of these not-to-be-missed lectures please call the Kollel at 773-262-9400 or email us at buffet@cckollel.org.
